In the second book of the Entire series by Kay Kenyon, star pilot Titus Quinn finds himself in another quandary as he desperately seeks to destroy the fortress of Ahnenhoon in order to prevent Earth from becoming a cog in an inter-dimensional power source, despite the fact that his wife Johanna is being held there. The story is part sci-fi and part mysticism, as seems to be popular these days. It's an intricate plot and it can be difficult to keep up, but its a satisfying journey to the start of the next book.
