Review of "Hot and Sweaty Rex : A Dinosaur Mafia Mystery" by Eric Garcia

This is the third book about the dino-dective and the Dinosaur Mafia. You have to willingly suspend a lot of your disbeliefs and buy into the premise that dinosaurs are still around and that they live among us wearing latex costumes as disguise.

Vincent the dinosaur is back. He smokes cigars, drinks whiskey, and is a tough crimefighter. Vincent is investigating a raptor takeover in Miami. If he gets caught when he is undercover, he might get his tail chopped off, or even worse, dissolved! In the very first few pages this is exactly what happens to a raptor who has been caught by the Mafia. They are pouring a liquid on his tale that eats flesh. It is painful and, frankly, disgusting. If you can wade through this part of the adventure and can believe that dinosaurs can just wear some latex and pass for sentient beings... well, it does have it funny moments.
