This is a story about a man who has lost his memory. It's January 1958 and Luke Lucas has awakes in a railway station. He doesn't know how he got there or even who he is. It's the time of the Cold War and the early efforts of the space race. As Luke searches for his identity, he finds himself with a wife and a collegiate background. He begins to realize that someone wanted him to forget something and he desperately needs to regain his identity and try to save the launch of the Explorer sattelite and ensure America's future in space.

All in all, its a formulaic work of a quality one might expect to see on the old Mission Impossible TV series. The characters are paper-thin and the plot telegraphs most of its punches.

All of the abridged versions have the approval of the Ken Follett. The choice is yours depending on time and desire.
