"FIRE LOVER" by Joseph Wambaugh, also published by Blackstone, is the complete book that was such a best-seller. For almost 14 hours you can listen to the reading by Ken (White Shadow) Howard who is one of the best. This true story tells us about John Orr who as a youngster was always in awe of the fires he watched. His heroes were firemen and when he grew up he became one with the Glendale, California Fire Dept. He worked hard and was promoted to Captain and assigned to apprehending arsonists. He was very successful and caught a string of petty arsonists. He could not solve a case of serial blazes that caused the deaths of four people. When the department finally uncovered the arsonists it turned out to be Captain Orr. True stories like this are often the best and most intriguing.
