All of these excellent audiobook history tapes are read by Ira Glaffey. They are all also part of a series called "The American President." The general editor of this series is historian Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr.

In the Adams tape we enter his life at the first of the New England residences of John and Abigail Adams. John led a life of faith and the desire to fulfill his obligations. He was a well-traveled man and as an adult he was admired although described as cold and austere. Adams rose through the ranks of diplomats into the role of Secretary of State and then on to the Presidency. He became President after being chosen by the House of Representatives, resulting from an inconclusive election that occurred when he ran against a war hero, General Andrew Jackson.

These are excellent peeks into the history of the American Presidency seen through the eyes of these four men. In all of the tapes the reading are hypnotic. It reminds us that truth is sometime better than fiction and the history of our country is well worth learning.
