What will this delightful author do when she finishes the alphabet series? There are only nine more letters left! Oh well, in the meantime we are treated to a fine reading of the "Q" mystery. The "quarry" in question is near Santa Theresa and where the Sheriff's department finds a "Jane Doe's" body. There are not many clues. The woman is young and she was tied up with a length of wire. She died from multiple stab wounds and her throat was slashed. We learn that this all happened eighteen years ago and the case was never solved.

Now the two men who found the body want someone to help the police to finally solve the case, and so they hire Kinsey Milhone. Kinsey finds that digging into the past can be a dirty and dangerous job.

This tale is based on a real unsolved homicide that occurred in 1969. Sue Grafton was working out of in the Santa Barbara Sheriff's department when she first heard about the case. Its a gripping audiobook mystery that leads you to a satisfying conclusion.
