This one is a pleasant read with not much that will be new to Midler fans. We all know she was born in Honolulu where she was part of the only Jewish family in the neighborhood. We know that she moved to New York to try her luck early on in life. We also know about the famous bathhouse where she was considered a star for a long time. From her bathhouse days, Bette began to make gold records and draw crowds at concerts. Bette and her group that was called "The Harlots", made history. I did not remember that she and Barry Manilow both appeared at the bathhouse and both moved on to fame. I love both of them.

This is an easy read about a woman we all feel we know a little, but we already knew that she was one of us.
