These three fabulous volumes have been brought up to date in this second edition. If you are a fan of Hollywood's music, this history of singers and their lives contains an immense amount of information that you will treasure.

Each entry (and there are many) contains between 2,000 to 5,000 words about the lives and careers of these artists. Also, every person covered is recorded with a full-page black and white photo. Well over a hundred major performers are listed.

Both of these authors have had a great deal of experience in this field and with their skill they present the reader with a wealth of knowledge. Each entry contains a filmography and a discography of the person. They also list the appearances on Broadway as well as the films. You might want to just pick through the pages and stop when you find someone of interest to you. If you are doing some serious study in this field, these books are invaluable.

I know the set is expensive, but for anyone doing research on this subject which has so few authoritative resources or references, the price is a bargain.
