The authors revisit their work of 40 years ago and still find racism is deeply dividing America. The book presents a history of African Americans and how they have been treated, and follow that with examples of how issues of race still plague this country. While few of us need to be reminded of this fact, the discussion of the problem is the only path to overcoming it. The authors present several ideas for bridging the gap and working toward equality.
