The summer months bring violent weather to much of the US, so even though the authors speak of their experiences in the world's oceans, boaters of all strips would do well to pay attention to their advice. The story of these two men who circumnavigated the globe gives considerable weight to what they describe as "tactics". They describe the different kinds of storms you might encounter on the sea and how to best prepare for them. Since my experience is limited to a couple of rowboats and canoes, I don't pretend to understand much of the book's advice. But it's a sure bet that if you're more than a backyard boater, you'll find a lot of useful information here.
