When Sergeant Peyton Scott was killed when his Humvee was ambushed in Iraq, it was simply another tragic death in a war filled with ambiguities. But when his four-star general father's glider mysteriously disintegrates in mid-air in Germany shortly thereafter, it started the alarm bells ringing in the Air Force's Office of Special Investigations. Were the two deaths connected? Was someone targeting this family? Hotheaded Major Vin Cooper is on the case, and he doesn't like it because some signs are pointing him in the direction of Washington. Its a light little military/espionage mystery with some amusing dialogue and a somewhat predictable ending.
