Old Chen is a fine maker of Chinese paper lanterns. He is getting very old, but neither of his apprentices can take over from him. They are just not good enough. One day a young man called Little Mouse comes by the shop and asks to learn how to make the lanterns. Little Mouse worked very hared until one day he could show Old Chen the beautiful lantern he had made.

The illustrations are big, colorful and handsome. They add to a tale that is a delight for young folks.
