This is the story of Vinnie Ream, a young girl who grew up in the mid-19th century. She had a gift for sculpture and when she came to Washington DC, she did busts of the presidents. The story focuses on how Abraham Lincoln sat for her to do a sculpture of him under a commission from the US Congress. Its an engaging story of a determined and talented young woman in an era when women were only beginning to assert themselves.
