The vendetta is of Italian descent and is longer than life. Tony Lucia is just a slight old man who raises homing pigeons that he races. Now he has murdered the aging mobster Angelo Coluzzi, and he is proud of it. Back in the old country, Coluzzi had killed Tony's wife because she had chosen Tony to marry. After a lifetime of fear because he had not revenged his wife's death and to protect his grandson, Tony has decided to conclude the vendetta.

Lawyer Judy Carrier takes on Tony's "vendetta" defense and tries to present a plausible plea for her client. It's a good legal battle and a nice love affair. It's a little hard to believe in the vendetta that travels through time and to this country but it makes for a good story.
