The streamliners of the Santa Fe Railroad ran throughout the years from late 1930's to the early 1970's. Their names still give us a tingle of pride when we see or hear the words, "Super Chief", the "Chief", "El Capitan" and the "San Francisco Chief." Fans of these trains will love this handsome book.

There are many color and black and white photos of these trains and their routes. Included in the book are illustrations of the timetable and postcards that show the trains and some of the stops they made. Many of the depots for the trains are still standing and are pictured here as well.

This is an historical look at the days when America loved train travel. Count me in. I rode the City of San Francisco just once and fell in love with trains. I loved the book and the look at that wonderful time when ravel was a bit slower and a lot more pleasure.
