One day Beth Wheatley fails to pick up her six year-old daughter at the Youth Center. Her husband Gus is a young lawyer who is finding the success he has always yearned for as the new head of a prominent law firm. At the same time, the FBI has called in a specialist, a profiler, to help them solve a series of brutal murders. The victims are killed in pairs. First there were two men and then two women. They are not directly related, but each one in a pair seems to mirror the other's life.

Gus takes time off his job to investigate for himself because as the clues and the facts are found, they all point to the possibility that Beth is either dead or the willing accomplice of the murderer.

Do we really know our spouses? You're sure to enjoy this excellent mystery.
