The LA Theater Works was founded in 1997. They produce full cast plays on tape, and do an excellent job of it. No matter where I meet Bertie Wooster and his gentleman's gentleman, Jeeves, I love them. This is where the series that has been successfully lifted from the wonderful books of P.G. Wodehouse into the form of a play. It is like imagining that the stage is real and they are performing just for you.

Bertie is bludgeoned by his beloved Aunt Dahlia into checking out a silver cow creamer coveted by his uncle, on offer at a jewelry store. Bertie is supposed to visit the store and talk the price down by (at the suggestion of the ingenius Jeeves) disparaging the item's origin as being "Modern Dutch."

At the same time, Bertie must rush off to attempt to patch up the shaky romance between his good friend Gustavus "Gussie" Finknottle (the newt collector) and Bertie's former fiancee, Madeline Bassett. Madeline's father (a local judge) hates Bertie and once sentenced him to a brief stint for stealing a policeman's helmet as a prank. It turns out that Pop Basset is also none too fond of Gussie. Thus Madeline blackmails Bertie into a plot wherein he would be caught in the act of stealing said cow creamer by Gussie in order to win the approval of her father. Bertie gets involved up to his ears in the off-again/on-again romance and the theft of the cow creamer.

This is an excellent production. It feels like you are in the theater for the evening and the cast does a terrific job of presenting this convoluted audiobook tale that is non-stop laughs.
