This excellent book is hard to classify. It could called a book for a young person in their teens, but it would also be of interest to adults who love the world of ballet. The author, Chan Hon Goh, is a beautiful dancer and major star in ballet. She was born in Beijing, China. Her parents were dancers too, but the Chinese government decided that Western Ballet should not taught. Her father left for Canada. She and her mother followed him shortly thereafter. The family soon established their own ballet school and Chan began to learn how to dance, too. She is now a member of the National Ballet of Canada and one of their leading stars. She has also danced in many countries.

Hon has given us her story in fascinating detail. Her love of the dance is easy to understand. It is not easy to become a Prima Ballerina, let alone the first one of Chinese descent to attain such a height. Her story is about a dream come true for her and her lucky audiences.
