Our friends, teen pirates Jolly and Griffin are stranded on a small island where a strange man is building a bridge to nowhere... at least nowhere the pair of gifted young pirates can fathom. While crossing the bridge, they're attacked by the evil kobalins, but fortunately the Ghost Trader saves them by transporting them to the magical city of Aelinium. Meanwhile, Jolly's father is still lost and she wants desperately to go find him.

It's a mix between a swashbuckler and a fantasy novel, with female leads to make things that much more unusual for such stories. Its a pulse-pounding adventure that's sure to please readers in grades 6-9.
