Paper cutting dates back thousands of years, and spans many cultures from Europe to Asia and, in modern times, the Americas as well. With the resurgence in home makeovers, the craft of paper cutting gives you a new method for updating the decor in your home.

Authors Helene Leroux-Hugon and Juliette Vicart show you the techniques that you can build on to create attractive silhouettes through a series of ready-made templates. The designs include a hanging lamp, room dividers and screens, wall friezes, and more. Only simple tools are required to make these appliques. A few good sharp scissors, a small art knife, and a couple of hole punches will do the trick. Better plan on setting aside a few weekends, because I bet you'll find yourself redecorating room after room once you start with this engaging book.
