If we remember Sal Mineo, we will recall his big dark and frightened eyes from the movie "Rebel Without A Cause." Mineo grew up in the Bronx and moved from Broadway to Hollywood. His performance in "Exodus" won him a second Academy Award nomination. He was famous for his roles as a troubled young delinquent. The tale end of the Baby Boom generation met him in the Disney television series "Tonka" where he played a young Indian boy.

Sal Mineo decided not to deny his homosexuality, and eventually fell out of favor in Hollywood. He returned to Broadway as a director. In 1976 at age 37, he was murdered in the parking lot of his apartment in West Hollywood. The mystery surrounding his murder in such a violent way make this journey into his life interesting and filled with more questions than answers.
