This is the bible of the publishing industry, and vital for any aspiring author you know. It's part of the job for a writer to know how to deliver their script, so that somebody will publish your immortal words. There are thousands of listings here, with many of them new for 2004. The book also lists some 300 agents who are a big step in getting published. Each listing of the publishers will tell what they are looking for and how to write to them. Some well-known writers like Nicholas Sparks give you information and encouragement.

Not light reading, by any measure. It's a big and heavy tome. This information-rich book is for use all year long. I also think it is inspiring just to have all of this information at your fingertips. This is the best reference book for authors who hope for getting published.
