Defense attorney Emily Graham is trying to recover from the breakup of her marriage and being pursued by an obsessed stalker. She accepts a new job in Manhattan and purchases a home in New Jersey. The home once belonged to her family, who sold it in 1892 after the disappearance of a young ancestor. Now Emily has renovated the house and is planning to put in a pool. The excavation uncovers the bones of a young woman who vanished four years earlier. Then they find in the same grave the finger bone of another woman. The finger wears a ring, which is identified as belonging to the dead ancestor.

As Emily investigates the connection between the corpses who died a hundred years apart, we are drawn into another excellent mystery by Clark. The chilling story is complimented by the reader who keeps us on edge throughout. Mystery fans will love this fine audiobook production.
