This is the great-grandmother of all historical murder mysteries. Tey first published this book in 1936, and it has been selling ever since. Now you can enjoy the adventure of Inspector Alan Grant from Scotland Yard. One morning, the body of a famous screen actress, Christine Clay is found on a beach on the southern coast of England. The Inspector takes the listener through the many clues and the variety of motives as he discovers that there are a lot of people who wanted the movie star dead.

Stephen Thorne, the reader of this mystery, is perfect for a good English plot. Throne has acted with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Old Vic Company. We have heard his voice reading Elis Peters' Brother Cadfael tales (also available through Audio Partners.).
