The Wind Dancer is a gold statue that is at the center of this latest thriller from Iris Johnson. The pursuit of the priceless statue after it was stolen involves a lot of problems. The owner, U.S. President Andreas, has agreed to load the antique to a museum. At the same time, his daughter Cassie is kidnapped from her home and the ransom is (of course) the Wind Dancer.

When she is rescued, Cassie can't speak. She has been suffering from catatonic trauma for some time, so she cannot tell them who kidnapped her and did the killings at the house. Two specialists are hired to work with the child and solve this convoluted case which has much more depth than the reader expects in the beginning. It is full of chases, thrills, and mysterious questions.
