This is one heavy book! Put your feet up on your own coffee table and enjoy a trip down memory lane. In the beginning, a little book appeared in drugstores that would fit into your coat pocket. That was in 1938. The book had no real binding and no dust jacket. It was an experiment that took off with a bang.

This fully crammed book contains, not just the words that chronicle the history of the paperback, but is filled with pictures of the wonderful covers. You might remember a few as I do. Turning the pages is akin to visiting a museum that contains over 600 brilliant covers. Science Fiction, mysteries, romance novels and westerns are there to nudge your memories of the hours of reading pleasure that brought them into your life at a reasonable cost.
