It is surprising to read a book by Marcia Muller and not find Sharon McCone. As it turns out this book details an unsolved murder that occurred 13 years ago. The center of the mystery is in a place named Point Deception that is located on the Northern Coast of California. Rhoda Swift is a Sheriff's Deputy and a very interesting character to meet. She ties up with a New York, writer, Guy Newberry. Point Deception is a small town and it's foggy a lot of the time. Guy is going to write about the older murders but now there are some current murders to solve.

I have always liked Marcia Muller and after reading this book I appreciate this writer even more.
