The passion of Artemisia is painting. When she is 18, she is raped by her painting teacher. Artemisia is humiliated in a papal court for publicly accusing her teacher. Artemisia goes to Florence with him where her talent for painting flourishes. Her career moves ahead faster than her husband's, and when her daughter is born, she tries to combine her career and being a mother.
