One of the names that is carved into the Vietnam Memorial is that of an American Army Lieutenant. His death is shrouded in mystery and the authorities have reason to believe that he was murdered. Paul Brenner is also a Vietnam vet and he is not interested, at first, in starting to investigate this case. He is summoned by his old boss who calls in a lot of favors that Paul owes him. As Paul begins to investigate the mystery, the only evidence is a recently discovered letter that was written by an enemy soldier. The letter describes a shocking act of violence. Paul returns to Vietnam to find the letter writer and begins on a strange journey that brings back a lot of his own painful memories. There is danger for everyone on this search.

This is very much an exciting adventure, read very well by both readers - although Ken Howard has the advantage of being a familiar voice from television.
