These children's books are sub-titled "Ready-to-Read" for the Pre-level 1. (I would guess that is for the first or second grade level). Using all of the drills that teach recognizing words and learning to read independently are used in these stories. The best part about them is that the stories are modern and fun.

Otto is a small robot who falls off of his spaceship into adventures on Earth. Otto meets all kinds of animals and has great times playing with new friends. From the "Adventures of Otto" series of excellent children's books.
