Dr. Marc Selman wakes up to find himself in a hospital. This is an ICU unit and Marc's head is covered with bandages. What happened? Only a little over one week ago Marc was a successful surgeon. He lived in a lovely home with a lovely wife and a six-month-old daughter. Now he is in the hospital because an unseen predator shot him. His wife was killed and his daughter was kidnapped. It is not long before Marc gets a note telling him that his daughter is still alive and demanding that he not tell the police or the F.BI. The demand for money is met, but the pickup is spoiled because Marc informed the Feds and they messed up. He gets another chance, but as this plot works itself out, Marc has become the main suspect in the murder of his wife. Twists and turns and missed opportunities to rescue his child provide oceans of excitement for the reader until the real truth comes out.
