No matter what your political stripe, don't we all wish our Presidents were as virtuous and intelligent as Jeb Bartlett? The first season of "The West Wing" comes to home video in this boxed set. The series is written by Aaron Sorkin and it shows. If you want to see what I mean, go out and rent the boxed set of "Sports Night", Sorkin's ill-fated and sadly overlooked sitcom based on ESPN. The pacing and dialogue are identical in both shows. Its TV drama the way they used to make 'em back before the sole driving force in the lives of all TV characters was bedding each other. It's literate, its altruistic, its droll, its sexy, its unabashedly and self-righteously liberal in its outlook, and its still the best thing on TV after three years.
