In this prequel to the "Pirates of the Carribbean" movie, our hero Captain Jack Sparrow finds himself in trouble again. A ghostly army of shadows is out to kill the Pirate Lords who govern pirates around the world. The soothsayer Tia Dalma foresees this evil, and calls on Jack Sparrow who is the only man who can save the Pirate Lords.

The story mixes some familiar characters with some new ones. Jack is indeed the captain of The Black Pearl and rallies his crew led by his first mate Hector Barbossa, young Billy Turner, and a friend since childhood named Jean. The story will keep the young reader helplessly captive as the tale unfurls and the characters they love from the movies come to life once again. For ages 9-12, it's a treat that will keep them laughing and reading!
