Choosing Sides: 146 Great Side Dishes
by Company's Coming How often do you find yourself in the situation where you've got the entree
decided, and its OK, but it feels like you're coming up short? So you have
to try to come up with a side dish that rounds things out into a memorable
meal. You guessed it! The always inventive Jean Pare' has a cookbook that
has the answers to your prayers. Its 150 pages of great side dishes that
give your menu that extra bit of excitement that you always want for your
family and guests. Some of these are old stand-bys like the Three Bean Salad or the Stuffed
Peppers - both of which make for a very attractive table. But if you're
looking for something more adventuresome, there's lots of great ideas here.
I was attracted to the Golden Asiago Potatoes, which is sliced potatoes
with grated Asiago cheese, garlic butter, and rosemary, and the Roasted
Beets with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and tarragon. There's
lots of ideas for side dishes of salads, rice, and pasta that are quick
and easy. What more could you ask for? It's another great cookbook from
Company's Coming in Canada.
