James and the Giant Peach
by Roald Dahl Reknown British author Roald Dahl's classic children's tale of "James and the Giant
Peach" tells the story of poor orphaned James who has to live with his wicked
aunts who make him do chores all day, and generally make his life miserable.
Until one day when James sprinkles some magic crystals by the old peach tree,
which makes the peach at the very top start to grow and grow until it's enormous!
It's as big as a house now, and James finds a secret entrance. Inside he finds
all kinds of magical insects who befriend him. I wish I had read Roald Dahl
when I was growing up. These are wonderful tales of imagination and courage. |
