Review of "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Recipes for Entertaining" by Beth Hensperger

I lost my Crock Pot in a recent move, so I haven't used one in quite some time, but I certainly have one on my Christmas list now after reading some of the more than 300 intriguing recipes in this cookbook. There are chapters devoted to appetizers, soups, and vegetable dishes, moving to entree's of beef, pork, or chicken, and ending with some fun desserts including cakes and puddings. The recipes are very simple, with few of them requiring more than 6 or 8 ingredients, so when you need an idea for tonight's lunch or dinner, you'll probably find an answer in this cookbook that doesn't mean having to make a trip to the grocery store. As with any great cookbook, noted author Beth Hensperger sprinkles loads of tips on how to best prepare certain kinds of dishes, how to find the best cuts of meat, and much more. And before I neglect the men - there's also several chili, hot wing, and barbeque recipes here, too! If you haven't used your slow cooker in a while, this book will reinvigorate your spirit of adventure with lots of tasty treats you can make.
