The upcoming movie has rekindled interest in the classic story Beowulf and his battle against the monster Grendel. This retelling is done from the view of a young warrior names Wiglaf who meets Beowulf in the land of Geats.

This lavishly illustrated book gives us all of the glory of the battles of the valliant knights. Purists will resist the reinterpretation, but the story remains one of the classics of literature and this is a worthy addition to the many different translations that have emerged over the centuries.
