The author of 'This Book Will Save Your Life' writes an autobiographical account of her relationship with her birth parents. Its a chilling saga that shows the flip side of the usual story of adoptees searching for their 'real parents'. Its a personal story about a mother who was an emotional cripple whose attitude toward Ms. Holmes changed with the phase of the moon and a lecherous father who made her feel ogled. Holmes obviously managed to survive being adopted and meeting her birth parents, and in that light this is an inspiring story. Just be prepared for the darkness.
