This is the last book in the 'Paradise' trilogy from Thalassa Ali. It tells the story of a young woman in 19th century Afghanistan where the British still hold a tenuous rule over the region, and our heroine Mariana Givens must make her way through dual societies. Its a book filled with imagery of the region with its ancient culture and the invading British who attempt to modernize the populace. Anglophiles will certainly feel at home here.
