Its a tale often told in mystery books. New York private eye John March's brother David, a Wall Street executive, has hooked up with an enchantress named Wren who threatens to tell his wife and bosses about their affair. The plot takes an unexpected turn when we discover that Wren is not your run-of-the-mill extortionist, but an artist who specializes in works depicting husbands cheating. You guessed it. Wren suddenly turns up dead, David is the prime suspect, and its up to our hero to save him. Despite the cynical tone here, the plot is well-woven, John March is a new take on the classic hard-bitten PI, and there are more than enough surprises for the most jaded reader.
