This delighful film appear in 1982 and has been hidden somewhere ever since. It is good and well worth owning.

Griffin O'Neil is the son of a magician, a famous escape artist. When his father dies during an esdcape trick the son wants to prove that his father's trick was something he could do too. Along the way the son has learned all sorts of tricks and he uses them to get money and trick other people. He is quite good at this. One day he tricks the son of the mayor, played by the late Raul Julia. The Mayor's son is a crook and when the boy steals some money, he wants it back. Every dirty trick in the book is played on the young magician, but in the end they join forces, the mayor's son and the the magician's son, to save themselves and the money.

It's a unique tale and Griffin O'Neil is excellent in the part of a young man who is a tad dishonest himself. Raul Julia as the son of the Mayor is a slimey, spoiled brat. Also appearing are Teri Garr and Joan Hackett. This is a delightful film with a plot that is fun to follow along with. They dug it out of the dusty vault at Paramount, and I for one am grateful.
