Welcome to our archive of October 2007 audiobook reviews. A good
audiobook is very much like the old time radio programs (which are fun to download) because they put on a stage
performance entirely with sound. We can't get enough of them, and now they're available on both cassette and CD, and
many websites now allow you to download audiobooks (as well as e-books) for iPods and other MP3 players. Whether you like to
call it a book on tape, an audiobook, or even a podcast, we present our audiobook reviews for your enjoyment.

A Treasury of Wisdom: True Stories of Hope and Inspiration Author and vocal talent Jim Weiss gives us an inspirational collection of ten stories about remarkable historical figures including King Solomon, Jesus, Alexander The Great, Michelangelo, Beatrix Potter, and Satchel Paige. You have to give him credit for diversity, if nothing else. The stories are aimed at children, but adults will certainly appreciate them as well. Good Luck Duck Another children's book resurrected by Jim Weiss and Great Hall Productions. Good Luck Duck is the story of a young boy named Timothy who lives with his parents in a quiet valley. Timothy and his parents go to the State Fair and Timothy where Timothy wins a duck! The duck turns out to be a fascinating animal, and he introduces Timothy to all kinds of different creatures he had never considered before. Each episode has a fairy tale quality and includes a moral. Originally written in 1950 by Meindert Dejong, this is another wonderful audiobook for children from Great Hall that concerned parents will want to share. Available directly from the publisher at http://www.greathall.com/. |
