Blue Herrings Midsomer is the name of the county where Chief Inspector Barnaby (John Nettles) is in charge. There are several small villages in his territory and it seems that something is happening all the time. Barnaby is a very likable and fairly mild detective. He and his wife and daughter live in one of the villages. Barnaby has an assistant whose name is Sgt. Troy (Daniel Casey) and they work well together. Barnaby is the brains but don't underestimate his assistant who is also sharp and capable.

In this particular mystery, Barnaby's sweet Auntie has signed herself into a home for the elderly called "Lawnsdale."

There has been a murder committed at the home and Auntie Alice calls upon her nephew Tom for assistance. Things get worse at the home and more murders are suspected. Barnaby and Troy move as fast as possible to solve the vicious streak of murders and to protect Barnaby's beloved Auntie

Death of a Stranger

Once again we are invited to watch a great mystery that occurs in the county of Midsomer. This time the village is called Upper Marshwood and they are celebrating a special hunt day. As the horses take off a dirty tramp tries to hide but in his terror he falls into a pit. Barnaby thinks the death is suspicious. As he an his assistant Troy begin to uncover the many secrets that a small village in England holds they finds some strange behaviors of several of the villagers that lead them to uncover some unsavory truths. Of course they solve the murder and the secrets.

John Nettles is always a charmer as Chief Inspector Barnaby. The villages of Midsomer are filled with quaint characters. Some of them are deadly

Judgement Day

This time the mystery is set in the village of Midsomer Mallow where they are preparing to compete and win the title of the title as the "Perfect Village". Of course there are problems; the main one is that the villagers is trying to keep the secret of a vile murder and they are holding the murderer at bay.

Dead Man's Eleven

A cricket bat used as a murder weapon on the too-young second wife of a Fletcher’s Cross tycoon whom everyone hates. The question is whodunit? Was it the jealous son or daughter-in-law who hated the woman they saw as stealing their birthright? Or was it a former employee who blamed the death of a co-worker on the old miser? Or was it someone else entirely? Barnaby susses it out in the end.
